Manuela Restaurant

Our Story

Located in the Arts District of Los Angeles, Manuela unites chef, farmer and artist to create an authentic and original dining experience. Under the direction of Executive Chef Kris Tominaga, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients sourced from the best farms and producers in Southern California.

Serving a wide range of vegetables, grains, fish, and game, Manuela also features an exemplary bar program, which serves classic cocktails using house-made bitters and tonics. Local beers are on tap, while the carefully selected wine list is designed to pair with the smoke and acid at the heart of Manuela’s menu.

Designed by Los Angeles native Matt Winter and named for Manuela Wirth, the restaurant is illuminated and animated by specially commissioned works from artists Paul McCarthy, Mark Bradford and Raymond Pettibon. We are delighted to have won the Award of Excellence in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards!

About Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles

Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles is a destination at the heart of the Downtown Arts District of Los Angeles, located at 901 East 3rd Street. It occupies the restored Globe Mills complex, a collection of interconnected late 19th- and early 20th century-buildings and internal outdoor spaces that have been adapted by Creative Space, Los Angeles, in consultation with Annabelle Selldorf, Selldorf Architects. Here visitors will discover museum-caliber exhibitions as well as public programs and educational activities that contextualize the art on view for diverse audiences.

Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles complements its exhibition program with the first ARTBOOK store in Los Angeles; a gallery space for Hauser & Wirth Publishers’ Book & Printed Matter Lab; the restaurant, Manuela; a planting garden; murals that engage the architecture of the complex; and an expansive open-air courtyard, where visitors will find sculpture as well as a spot for quiet contemplation and informal gathering.

Our Garden

Our Garden

We’re passionate about seasonal and local produce, and this is reflected in our own garden which is situated across the courtyard from the restaurant. Everything grown is used in our dishes or cocktails, including herbs, pomegranates, chillies and much more. Our garden is also home to our feathered friends, the chickens, who provide us with fresh eggs and joy every day.
